Bill Rhea received a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco in 1991 then returned later to study painting with award-winning artist, Craig Nelson. Bill participated in several of their Spring Shows, receiving awards for Best In Show, Faculty Choice, and Best Landscape.
Bill went on to teach Still Life Painting at the Academy for nine years as well as Composition and Painting. He participated yearly in their Faculty/Alumnae Show while there and continues to do so.
His work is exhibited by the Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay California as well as the Leslie Levy Gallery in Arizona. He has participated in numerous group shows at the Garden Gallery as well as a two-man show with Craig Nelson in 2009. Bill has also been in a one man show at the Critical Eye Design Gallery in Sausalito in 2008. In 2012, Bill moved to Santa Fe to study with Tony Ryder. Bill now lives and paints full time in Santa Fe. His studio is on the Santa Fe Open Studio Tour.
